TS: Heat price averaged CZK 530/GJ last year

The average price of heat from coal power plants in 2011 reached ca. CZK 470 per GJ, according to Teplárenské Sdružení (Heating Industry Association).

(ČIA, Jan 25) The average price of heat from coal power plants in 2011 reached ca. CZK 470 per GJ, according to Teplárenské Sdružení (Heating Industry Association). The price of heat from gas sources exceeded CZK 550 per GJ. The association estimates that the average price of heat energy ranged from CZK 520 to CZK 530 per GJ. TS argues that the price will probably grow next year, due to higher prices of emission permits and the likely further VAT increase. The association expects also the introduction of the carbon tax for individual gas and/or coal heating.
