The ČEZ Group commissioned a modern photovoltaic power plant in Chýnov near Tábor at the end of 2009. The facility is operated by ČEZ Renewable Sources.
Chýnov is situated about 5 km east of Tábor in the České Budějovice Region. It is one of the areas with favourable conditions for the production of electricity from solar radiation. The average annual total global radiation exceeds 3,8 thousand MJ/m2 it also has the highest number of days of sunlight. The power plant with an installed output of 2.009 MW should, in the opinion of ČEZ Renewable Sources specialists, produce an annual amount of electricity covering the demand of approximately 500 households in south Bohemia.
The construction itself was carried out in the second half of 2009. Carriers of polycrystalline panels are fixed to bearing piles fixed in the ground.
