The Měsíc product line is for customers who want to make use of all the potential advantages offered by the current electric energy market in the Czech Republic. The product line offer the same number of products as the regular portfolio, but in addition they allow the pricing of these products to be directly connected to the prices on the Prague Energy Exchange (PXE).
Continually priced products are therefore an alternative to the common products; they differ in that the price of the tariff component of the electric current price changes monthly. The pricing itself is calculated using the index method, where the price of the common products from the annual pricelist is multiplied by the index, which expresses the ratio between the price of the electric current on the basis of which the given annual pricelist was calculated and by the price of the electric current for the next month.
The price of the tariff component of the products flexibly accommodates the development of wholesale prices on the market and is always determined ahead of time for the entire month
The setting of the price is conducted every month – the monthly price is calculated as the product of the price of the regular basic product used by the customer and the current monthly index.
The value of the monthly index is always determined on the seventeenth day of the month preceding a new month, as the quotient of the average price of the monthly band of the electric current for the past ten business days and the reference price of the relevant annual pricelist
Determination of the Price
The price of the electric current is directly tied to the wholesale prices, for which the electric current is traded at the Prague Energy Exchange (PXE) and follows the developments of these wholesale prices in the relevant time frame. The final price of the continually priced product of the Měsíc Lines is always set at the latest by the 20th day of the month preceding the priced period, as the product of the price of the basic product (for example D Standard, D Akumulace 8, etc.) and the market price index for the priced period. This index expresses the ratio between the price for which electricity in the basic band is currently traded on the exchange during the given priced period (monthly forward price) and the price of the basic band, on the basis of which the price of the regular basic product for the year in which the given month is priced, was calculated.
The price of the tariff components of electric current, i.e. High Tariff (VT) and Low Tariff (NT), is determined according to the Ct=I*T formula, where Ct is the price of the given tariff, I is the value of the market price index and T is the price of the given tariff component of the basic product.
The fixed monthly price of electricity (monthly plan) is not indexed; it has the same value for the entire year, much like the regular annual pricelist of the Comfort Line basic product.
The value of the market price index for the given month is set according to the I = PA / PR formula, where
PA is the current market price of the basic monthly band (in EUR), determined as the arithmetic average of ten daily consecutive prices, published by the exchange before the 17th day of the month preceding the (month) period, for which the price is determined
PR is the reference price of the annual band, on which the basic product price of the annual pricelist is based. The amount of the reference price is the result of the electric energy purchase for the portfolio of customers using the regular annual pricelist. However the reference price in each annual pricelist can be (and most probably is) different.
For a single reference price 12 monthly indexes are always calculated. For 2010 PR = 49.25 EUR/MWh
