CRIF: Some 16,686 firms established in Czech Republic in H1

(CIANEWS, August 2) A total of 16,686 commercial companies were founded in the Czech Republic in the first half of 2017.
This represents a growth by 2,814 firms y/y and also the highest number of new companies in history. A total of 5,592 enterprises (+ 1,572) terminated their activities in the period. A net growth totalled 11,094 firms, some 1,242 more than in the first half of 2016 and the highest number since the beginning of 2010. The highest number of new companies was recorded for Prague (7,146) and South Moravia Region (2165), while the lowest number was recorded for Karlovy Vary Region (252). The segment of commerce showed the highest number of both newly founded and terminated companies (3,926 and 2,000). A total of 1,910 companies were founded and 819 terminated in June. This stems from an analysis published by CRIF – Czech Credit Bureau.
