The state budget of the Czech Republic in 2017 ended with a deficit of CZK 6.2bn.

(CIANEWS, Jan 3) The state budget of the Czech Republic in 2017 ended with a deficit of CZK 6.2bn. It is lower by CZK 53.8bn compared to the approved deficit. Total revenues amounted to CZK 1,273.6bn and total expenditure stood at CZK 1,279.8bn. The Ministry of Finance (MF) said the better-than-planned result reflected especially better tax revenues, including social security payments that had been higher by CZK 41.1bn. Positive factors included more effective tax collection and ongoing economic growth accompanied by high employment and growing wages in the business and public sectors.
