Miloš Zeman was elected Czech Republic’s president for the second term on January 27, 2018.

(CIANEWS, Jan 28) Miloš Zeman was elected Czech Republic’s president for the second term on January 27, 2018. Mr. Zeman has received 51.4% of the votes, while his liberal challenger Jiří Drahoš 48.6%. Czech Statistical Office has informed that M. Zeman won in 4,653 Czech municipalities and villages, i.e. 74.4% of the total. There were totally 5 554 596 valid votes in the second round of the presidential election. Voter turnout reached 66.6%, up 7.5 p.p. on 2013.
