(CIANEWS, Feb 20) The industry and the energy sector have invested tens of billions of korunas in lowering emissions in the recent years, reducing them fundamentally. This is according to the President of the Confederation of Industry (SP) of the Czech Republic, Jaroslav Hanák. In the years 2000 to 2016, emissions of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides decreased by 52 and 46 %, respectively. All polluters must participate in the lowering of harmful emissions. Any legislative proposals, which relate to the production and consumption of energy, must analyse the actual benefits and effects on the environment consistently, including relation to valid or intended legislation and the effects on safety and stability of energy supplies.
