(ČIA) The GDPR effective from May 25, 2018 will catch up to one fifth of Czech companies unawares, according to a survey by the Czech Chamber of Commerce (HK). The introduction of measures in line with the EU regulation on the personal data protection requires up to several months of work. Everything depends on the size of companies and volume of data they collect. About 34% of entrepreneurs still do not know which measures should be introduced. Readiness of firms in the EU is not better. Companies most frequently plan to modify internal documents such as internal personal data protection guidelines. They also plan to change internal processes related to personal data processing and recordkeeping and reporting of client records. One third of companies are also reviewing employee and supplier contracts.
