CEZ Group Continues To Invest in the German Wind Energy Sector. Total Installed Capacity in Germany Nears 100 MW.
CEZ Group has acquired another 35 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 85.25 MW in the German market. Its eight wind parks are dispersed over northern Germany and all of them have already been commissioned. Operating support is obtained under the contract with wpd windmanager, a sister-company of the reputable seller, wpd AG. The wind farms benefit from the 20-year feed-in tariff.
The wind park with a total installed capacity of 12.8 MW was built as a turnkey project in southwest Germany. CEZ acquired the project, including a 20-year feed-in tariff subsidization contract, from AREAM, a German Investment and Asset Manager.
ČEZ Group resolves to improve its energy efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions per MWh generated in the Czech Republic by 46% before 2020 as compared to 2001. ČEZ thus joins other energy companies that declared their specific goals in the context of the Paris climate conference. ČEZ is actively negotiating in Paris for effective carbon pricing and interconnection of CO2 trading, and is one of about 100 international companies and other organizations that have already supported “business proposals.”
INVEN CAPITAL, daughter-company of CEZ Group, invests in Sonnenbatterie, the German-based global leader in energy storage systems
INVEN CAPITAL, a company founded by the CEZ Group to invest in innovative energy solutions, has invested in Sonnenbatterie, a German company specialized in developing, manufacturing and selling battery based intelligent energy storage systems. Based in Bavaria, the company has developed a unique and reliable solution and has become a global leader in technologies for storing energy from solar panels and other renewable sources of energy for households and commercial clients. INVEN CAPITAL participated in a capital increase and joined Sonnenbatterie alongside with SET Ventures, Munich Venture Partners and eCAPITAL as a financial investor.
Today, ČEZ has officially informed the Albanian Government about its intention to initiate international arbitration. The ground is the non-protected investment in the power distribution company of CEZ Shpërndarje. The ČEZ Group expects to receive compensation for the damage incurred as the company is entitled to the compensation according to international law.
The last one of 240 wind turbines in the Fantanele-Cogealac wind park in Romania has been connected to the grid today. The total installed capacity is now 600 MW, and the largest continental wind park in Europe can thus supply power to over one million Romanian households every year.
CEZ Romania SA, member of the CEZ Group, finalized the acquisition of the hydroenergy system in Caras Severin County near Resita. CEZ Romania SA bought 100% stake in TMK Hydroenergy Power SRL.
Large hydroelectric power plants produce extra clean power for over 17 thousand Czech households due to reconstructions.
In Prague on 13 December 2010 – the ČEZ Group will produce over extra 60,000 MWh of clean power in the horizon of 12 years in hydroelectric power plants compared to the current situation. An extensive program for increasing the efficiency of ČEZ hydroelectric power plants will enable covering of the annual demand of further 17 thousand households. At the same time it is an alternative to construction of renewable sources in new locations.
Fantanele, Romania – Yesterday (1st June) at 5:25 pm. of the local time, the first of a total of 240 wind turbines was commissioned in the project of the largest European wind farm Fantanele – Cogealac which is under construction by the CEZ Energy Company in the Romanian province Dobrogea.
Prague, 25 January 2010 – In 2009 the ČEZ Group produced over 327 million kWh of electric power from biomass in consumer’s power plants. Improvements of the Hodonín power plant enabling increased volumes of the burned biomass proved to be positive.
