Information on NPP Temelín 3 / 2006

The first Units is operated at a planned power level. Unit 2 has been shut down as planned yesterday at 19.00 o?clock. The reason of the outage is the replacement of the high pressure turbine rotor. All auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.

January 4, 2006

It is the postponed unit outage that was originally planned for the second half of December 2005. After the replacement that will take place in the end of January, the Unit 2 power will return back to the design level of 980 MWe. On January 4 and 5, Unit 2 will be cooled down by means of steam dump to atmosphere, which will be accompanied by noise audible in the close surroundings of the power plant. To a lesser degree, the Unit steam dump will be accompanied by noise through to January 10, 2006.
