Photovoltaic power plant - Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou
In November 2009, a modern photovoltaic power plant was put into operation in Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou. The equipment for production of electricity from solar radiation has an installed output of 3.73 MW. According to our estimates, it should produce 3.7 million kilowatt-hours a year and become a source of energy for more than a thousand households in southern Moravia.
Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou is situated in the southernmost part of the region of South Moravia. This region is the sunniest in the Czech Republic, with the highest number of sunny days and an annual average total of solar radiation of over 4 thousand MJ/m2. The power plant occupies an area of 7 hectares and consists of more than 17 thousand panels. The investment costs are in the order of hundreds of millions of Czech crowns.
The construction of the plant began in July. Bearers are fixed to supporting pillars driven into the ground. The bearers create a base for photovoltaic panels measuring ca 1.2 x 2 meters. A 6 x 630 kW transformer station also had to be installed. The project for constructing the plant also provided work opportunities for the residents of Hrušovany.
