Unit 1 will be transferred to so-called power effect operation tomorrow, when the reactor power will be gradually reduced under 90 per cent. In relation to the reactor power also the power of turbine-generator will reduce (the estimated target value is approximately 880 MWe). The power effect operation will be terminated on 17 July when Unit 1 will start a refuelling outage.
It is usually transferred to power effect at the end of fuel campaign. The sense is to use the fuel assemblies of the existing campaign the most effectively with gradual reduction of reactor power. Lower power enables receiving of the residual energy from the most spent fuel assemblies.
