Information on NPP Temelín 133 / 2009

Unit 1 is in operation at planned power level. At Unit 2, a planned outage is under way in compliance with the schedule that is connected with the annual refueling of 1/4 of the reactor fuel. The auxiliary systems are working in accordance with the operation needs of individual units.

Today at 0:53 a.m. o’clock, the operation personnel started the Unit 2 reactor. Obtaining of approval for the restart of the unit from the State Office for Nuclear Safety preceded reactor start. Physical tests at the minimum reactor power level follow. The tests will verify the reactor core parameters before the restart of the Unit power operation. Balancing runs of the turbine will be performed prior to the generator connection to the power distribution grid. In the course of them, the turbine run will be tested after blades replacement in the third impellers of the low pressure turbines. The balancing will be carried out at a reactor power below 30 % RTP. The turbine generator synchronization itself will take place at 50 % RTP.
