In its course, 48 fuel assemblies will be replaced. Furthermore, the outage will include internal inspection of the reactor pressure vessel. The inspection is made in four-year regular cycles and the goal of it is to verify thee conditions of the reactor vessel internal walls. Also, a four-years regular tightness test will take place on the containment (1.2 m thick reinforced concrete protection reactor envelope). Another important work will be the refueling machine modernization. The same modification has been carried out on Unit 1 last year.
The most important activity in the non-nuclear part will be the replacement of blades of the third action wheels in the low pressure turbines. Almost seven thousand activities are planned in the detailed outage schedule In addition to 400 permanent staff workers, another 600 people from almost fifty supplier companies will take part in their assurance.
