The production plan in the amount of 13.4 billion kWh has been fulfilled at 98.75 %. The plan fulfillment has been hindered first of all by the prolongation of the outage for refueling of Unit 1 by almost, when the works connected with the turbine generator balancing dragged on.
In comparison with 2008, the power plant reduced the failure rate, hence, the unplanned failure to produce. The value of 1.75 % is the lowest in its history and is almost three times lower than in the preceding year. It is just the keeping of the failure rate under 2 per cent, which is one of the prerequisites that the power plant will reach its long-term objective in 2012 and will produce 15 billion kWh of electric energy.
In the last year, the electricity produced by Temelín would cover the electricity consumption of the Southern Bohemian Region for 3 years or supply all southern Bohemian households for 11 years.
This year, Temelín power plant plans to produce 14.6 billion kWh of electricity and, in this way, will try to surmount the boundary of 14 TWh of electric energy. During the following two years, the Temelín management wants to gradually increase the annual production to reach the project‘s SAFELY 15TERA objective in 2012 and that the power plant will deliver 15 TWh to the grid.
In 2010, there are two outages for refueling (one at each unit) planned for Temelín. Their total length is 110 days. The Unit 2 outage starts on May 1 and, at Unit 1, the outage will start on July 17.
