CEZ Group expanded to Turkey in 2008. Through Akcez Enerji, a joint venture with a Turkish partner, CEZ owns shares in a distribution company Sakarya Elektrik Dagıtım AS (SEDAS) and in a sales company Sakarya Elektrik Perakende Satis AS (SEPAS).

Another joint venture, Akenerji Elektrik Üretim, operates several hydroelectric plants, the Ayyildiz wind park and the Egemer CCGT in eastern Turkey.

Electricity production

Electricity production is provided by Akenerji Elektrik Üretim and its subsidiaries. Through them CEZ Group co-owns power plants with a total installed capacity of 1,224 MW. The portfolio is dominated by the Egemer CCGT plant with an installed capacity of 904 MW and seven hydroelectric plants with an installed capacity of 288.9 MW. Wind power makes up 28.2 MW.

Electricity distribution

The distribution company Sakarya Elektrik Dagıtım (SEDAS), controlled by CEZ and its Turkish partner AKKÖK, operates in the industrialized north-western Turkish province of Sakarya. It supplies electricity to approximately 1.3 million customers.

 

Electricity sale

Electricity to end customers is sold by Sakarya Elektrik Perakende Satis (SEPAS). The company was created in 2012 as a result of the unbundling legislation.
