The Burç Bendi Power Plant is located in south-eastern Turkey, on the Göksu River. Construction started in January 2008 and commercial operation started in November 2010. The total cost of construction was approx. USD 65 million. The power plant dam is of a gravity type, constructed of rolled concrete. The 57 m tall concrete dam withholds a reservoir of 26,600,000 m3. Water is diverted through a 536 m long tunnel followed by a surge tank and a penstock to the power station. Three 9.3 vertical Kaplan turbines generate clean electricity.
