ČEZ to Change Its Organizational Structure

The Supervisory Board of ČEZ has today discussed a proposal for a change in the corporate organizational structure that would ensure that each of the Members of the Board of Directors will once again be responsible for a corresponding division. The newly defined divisions also respond to the current developments in the European energy sector where the impacts of regulation and legislation on business have become ever more evident. At the same time, the responsibility for management areas in the CEZ Group will be evenly distributed across all members of the Board of Directors, thus ensuring a greater management effectiveness. All changes will take effect as of 1 May 2014.

The following changes will be implemented as of 1 May 2014:

  • The Sales and the Strategy divisions will be merged to create a new division – Sales and Strategy, which will be led by the current Strategy Division Director, Pavel Cyrani.  Combining the two divisions will lead to savings and add emphasis on ČEZ’ strategic programme focused on customer service.
  • The Distribution and Foreign Assets Division will be changed to Foreign Assets Division.
  • An External Relations and Regulation Division will newly be formed; it will be led by Ivo Hlaváč, member of the Board of Directors. This division will also take over the management of the subsidiaries of ČEZ Distribuce (ČEZ Distribution) and ČEZ Distribuční služby (ČEZ Distribution Services), which have to date been under the competence of the Distribution and Foreign Assets Division and which operate solely in the regulated market.
