EDU II company calls on EDF to publish a bid for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic

The Dukovany II Power Plant (EDU II), jointly owned by the Czech state and the CEZ energy group, has called on EDF to publish its bid submitted in the tender for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in Dukovany.

As an investor, the company EDU II can responsibly declare that the tender for the supplier of the new nuclear units was carried out in all phases in a fully transparent manner and under fair conditions.

Czech Office for the Protection of Competition also confirmed the investor's correct procedure during the selection process twice. We insist that the KHNP offer is more advantageous for the Czech Republic in all parameters than the offer submitted by EDF. To leave no room for doubt, we call on EDF to publish its offer immediately.

If it is conclusively proven that the lawsuit is unfounded, which we firmly believe, EDU II is then prepared to consistently recover damages and thus protect the value for our shareholders, led by the Czech Republic, so that it is not unreasonably reduced by any harassing lawsuits.

EDF is at the same time challenging the Foreign Subsidies Regulation. EDF is concerned that the Korean side has given such favorable terms that they cannot be true. We consider this to be speculation by the unsuccessful bidder – the tender participants do not and must not have any information about the content of other bids except their own.

We believe that the unsuccessful bidder is not interested in winning the tender, but in ensuring that no nuclear power plant is built here in the Czech Republic at all.
