Photovoltaic Academy Returns for Its Second Year: Students Gain Hands-On Experience in Real Operations

The ČEZ Group hosted the second edition of the Photovoltaic Academy, a week-long educational program for students, educators, and professionals from the Czech Republic, Zambia, and Lesotho. Nineteen participants had the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of modern energy operations, visiting power plants, laboratories, and the renewable energy control center, while also meeting experts from the ČEZ Group. The Photovoltaic Academy is part of the company's long-term commitment to supporting technical education.

The academy brought together fourteen students from Czech technical universities and five participants from Zambia and Lesotho, who were selected through a long-term professional mentoring program organized by the ČEZ Group. The program combined visits to energy facilities, practical workshops, and expert lectures focused on renewable energy sources and modern energy technologies.

A key component of the program was a series of hands-on workshops, during which participants gained experience in tasks such as wiring switchboards, working with protective equipment, and understanding the operating principles of photovoltaic systems. Students identified the combination of theoretical knowledge and real-world operational experience as the academy’s greatest benefit.

The Photovoltaic Academy forms part of the ČEZ Group’s long-term efforts to support technical education and develop professional expertise both in the Czech Republic and internationally. At the same time, it helps identify new talent and build relationships with the next generation of energy professionals.
