First Westinghouse nuclear fuel arrives in Dukovany

Historically, the first batch fuel assemblies from Westinghouse have arrived at the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant. They follow deliveries to Temelín. Fuel supply diversification of suppliers and the first deliveries represent a strengthen the Czech Republic’s energy security.

Tomorrow evening, ČEZ will shut down Temelín Unit 1 for inspections and refuelling

This will involve inspections of the safety systems and turbine, 70 investment projects and the replacement of some of the fuel assemblies. These are just some of the most significant tasks that will be carried out during the planned shutdown of the first unit at the Temelin Nuclear Power Plant. Energy technicians will disconnect the unit from the transmission system tomorrow evening. In total, ČEZ plans to carry out over 16,000 activities, for which it has provisionally allowed two months.

EDU II company calls on EDF to publish a bid for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic

The Dukovany II Power Plant (EDU II), jointly owned by the Czech state and the CEZ energy group, has called on EDF to publish its bid submitted in the tender for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in Dukovany.

Temelín Unit 2 is producing electricity again

Yesterday evening, the operating personnel connected the second Temelín unit to the transmission system. Before Easter, the power engineers planned to disconnect the unit from the transmission system for five days to adjust the turbine mounting.
