At the request of a bidder, ČEZ will extend the deadline for submitting the final bids for construction of the new nuclear reactor by nearly a month

ČEZ has agreed to a request by one of the bidders and has extended the deadline for submitting the final bids for construction of the new nuclear reactor in Dukovany. The new deadline is now October 31, 2023. Extension of the deadline has no impact on the project schedule. Bidders will submit non-binding bids for another three nuclear reactors in addition to the binding bid for one reactor in Dukovany.

ČEZ will shut down the Temelín Unit 2 for checking and replacing fuel assemblies today

Checks of safety systems, of the turbine, 69 investment actions or the replacement of a part of fuel assemblies. These are just examples of the most important works to be carried out during the planned Unit 2 outage of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. The technicians will disconnect the Unit from the transmission system tonight. Overall, ČEZ company plans to do almost fifteen thousand activities, which it preliminarily designed for two months.

The Temelín Unit 1 produces electricity again. The planned outage lasted two months.

Today at 13 o´clock, Unit 1 of Temelín NPP started to produce electricity again. Operators have connected it to the transmission system after replacing a quarter of the fuel assemblies. Power engineers also checked the safety systems or the turbine. The containment building around the reactor also passed the leak test. They managed 18,000 activities during the shutdown, including 78 investment actions. Together with the Dukovany power plant, all six nuclear units are currently in operation. Unit 1 of the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant is now planned to be shut down for inspection and refuelling.

Temelín started to reduce its output in a planned manner and will initiate a two-month shutdown for refuelling on Friday night.

Tonight, Temelin Unit 1 began to reduce its power slowly. Operators will shut down the Unit for scheduled equipment checks and refuelling on Friday evening. During the outage, technicians will conduct 82 dozens of investment actions related to the plant's modernization. In total, ČEZ has nearly 16,000 activities planned for approximately two months during the outage.
