In 2021, CEZ plants in the Czech Republic consumed a total of 348 million cubic meters of surface water. This is a 12.5% year-on-year decrease and a saving of more than 50 million cubic meters.
Dukovany and Temelín nuclear power plants consumed three percent less raw water for their operations last year. They saved almost 2.5 million cubic metres of water. Both nuclear power plants also increased their electricity production year-on-year last year.
Hydropower plants operated by CEZ Group have surpassed their 2020 production by more than 17 percent in 2021 with more than 1.28 TWh of emission-free electricity generated.
CEZ has won TOP Employer 2022 for the third consecutive year as the absolute winner with the title Jasná volba (Clear Choice) in a poll of 12,000 students at Czech universities.
