CEZ Group has improved its ESG rating from CDP, one of the world's leading organisations focused on assessing companies, cities, regions and countries from a sustainability perspective. In the key category focused on climate protection, CEZ improved to A-. CDP monitors corporate impacts in terms of climate change, water security, and forest risks. Its independent ratings are used by approximately 750 investors worldwide.
- ČEZ has already brought ships with the Czech Republic’s annual consumption to the LNG terminal in Eemshaven
The equivalent of the Czech Republic’s annual gas consumption has already been brought by ships to the LNG terminal in Eemshaven, the Netherlands, which has been operational since September 2022. LNG terminals in Europe and the building of new supply chains have been instrumental in overcoming the energy crisis and rapidly reducing energy prices in Europe. From the beginning of its operation until the end of 2025, the LNG terminal in Eemshaven has received a total of 72 ships with gas destined for the Czech Republic, bringing 6.44 billion cubic metres of gas. None of the ships contained Russian gas, which is a condition for terminal users.
- CEZ Group completes the acquisition of Gas Distribution, a company operating the gas distribution network in Southern Bohemia and parts of the Vysočina Region
CEZ Group has completed the acquisition from E.ON of a 100% stake in Gas Distribution s.r.o., the operator of the gas distribution network in the South Bohemian Region and in parts of the Vysočina Region. Through its subsidiary GasNet, CEZ is thus expanding its gas distribution network and with the exception of Prague will now distribute gas throughout the Czech Republic. The gas distribution network plays a major role in the transformation of the Czech district heating business and its transition from coal-based energy to natural gas and subsequently to hydrogen.
