A spring cleaning spree among energy workers “blowed” hundreds of kilograms of clothing and useful household items to the St. Mary Magdalene Shelter
Děčín/Jiřetín pod Jedlovou – Approximately 300 kg (40 kg more than in October 2025) of various clothing for women and children, as well as men, was collected at the ČEZ Distribuce headquarters in Děčín in a single day as part of the so-called “Closet Cleanout” for the St. Mary Magdalene Shelter for Mothers with Children in Jiřetín pod Jedlovou. As always, everything was only slightly worn or relatively new, and some items were even brand new. In addition, there were several sets of bedding, blankets, and pillows, as well as curtains and tablecloths; 40 pairs of various shoes—from winter to spring to summer styles; 25 bags and handbags; various toys; a bag of stuffed animals; and board games and children’s books, including the 10-volume set "Klub záhad" by Thomas Brezina. Among the household items, the most prominent were a set of four pots with lids plus two pans; a set of kitchen knives, a citrus juicer, a coffee or tea strainer, and a deep fryer.
