Cycle buses transported 326 bicycles to Dukovany during the season, saving almost a ton of CO2
The end of October marked the end of this year's season of bicycle transport on routes from Třebíč to the Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant, which increases transport safety and promotes a healthy lifestyle. Since April, employees have been able to transport their bicycles on morning buses and return from work on their own. During this season, 326 employees took advantage of this unique service. A similar service also operates at the second nuclear power plant in Temelín, where cycle buses transported sixty more bicycles.
In addition to safety and practicality, cycle buses are also interesting from an ecological point of view. Thanks to them, employees choose a combination of bicycles and public transport instead of private cars. By limiting individual car transport, this service helps reduce CO₂ emissions and traffic congestion in the vicinity of the power plant. The bike buses will resume their routes with the arrival of spring 2026.
