Extensive digital applications and models, online diagnostics and control, artificial intelligence, automated inspections, robotic technologies, 3D printing, and new methods for repairing and renovating materials. The use of cutting-edge technologies is one of the cornerstones of the long-term safe and efficient operation of the Dukovany and Temelín power plants. Every year, in connection with long-term operation, CEZ implements more than 20 technological innovations.

The decline in electricity generation at coal-fired power plants, the development of data centers and artificial intelligence, the electrification of transportation, and the modernization of industry. Partly because of this outlook, the importance of stable, zero-emission sources continues to grow, including both planned new nuclear power plants and the long-term operation of the existing Dukovany and Temelín nuclear power plants. CEZ has now announced its intention to operate these plants for up to 80 years.

On average, CEZ expects to invest 10–12 billion CZK annually in nuclear power plants. These investments are focused, among other things, on the renewal of technological units, the modernization of control systems and diagnostics, and the strengthening of safety features, including costs for the development and procurement of nuclear fuel.
