Following Dukovany, the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant is also heading toward 80 years of operation

CEZ has launched a process that will enable the long-term operation of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant. This step significantly strengthens the Czech Republic’s energy security and reaffirms CEZ’s long-term strategy as a stable and reliable supplier of low-emission electricity, even amid dynamic changes in the energy market. The Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant has already undergone the same assessment.

The individual units of the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant were commissioned in 2000 and 2002. Thanks to extensive modernization efforts, CEZ increased the electrical output of both units from the original 1,962 MW to 2,172 MW during operation. The Dukovany Nuclear Power Plant underwent a similar process, with its total output rising from 1,760 MW to the current 2,048 MW.
