Kořensko is undergoing the largest modernization in its history. Half of the hydroelectric plant’s new machinery is already in place

The Kořensko small hydroelectric power plant, which has been operating for 34 years as part of the Vltava River Cascade, is currently undergoing the most extensive modernization in its entire history. Both units will undergo a complete replacement of their turbines, generators, power output switchgear, and control systems. The installation of new components on unit TG1 is currently underway. Once work on the second unit is also completed, operations will be safer, more environmentally friendly, and more efficient starting next year. The investment is partially funded by grants from the TAK Operational Program (Technologies and Applications for Competitiveness).
