Ongoing modernization of hydroelectric power plants

The modernization of CEZ Group’s hydroelectric power plants on the Vltava River continues. Twelve renewed units now produce millions of extra kWh annually and operate more efficiently.

The system of power plants, known as the Vltava Cascade, can produce 0.7 kWh of emission-free electricity from one cubic meter of water. The cascade has nine stages and 22 power generating sets, half of which have been completely modernized in recent years. CEZ Group invested CZK 1.5 billion in the modernization.
