Temelín keeps water consumption below the long-term average

The Temelín Nuclear Power Plant has long been working to improve the efficiency of its electricity generation and to keep raw water consumption below the long-term average. Last year, the South Bohemian power plant required 2.476 cubic meters of water to generate one megawatt-hour (MWh) of electricity. Compared to the long-term average during the plant’s full operation, this represents a decrease of approximately two percent. The plant’s operators expect further savings after 2027, when the modernization of the cooling water treatment plant will be completed.
