The ČEZ Foundation supported 56 projects aimed at improving cross-country skiing and hiking trails throughout the Czech Republic; most of them in northern Bohemia
The CEZ Foundation will support 56 projects across the country with more than CZK 20 million, whose applicants succeeded in the winter round of the grant "Improvement of hiking trails and cross-country skiing tracks". Most of the successful projects are from the Ore Mountains and the Podkrušnohoří region, followed by the Jizera Mountains and the Giant Mountains. However, applications from the Šumava, Vysočina and Orlické Mountains were also successful, and other approved projects are scattered throughout the remaining mountain ranges as well as the lowlands. Most projects are focused on facilities for cross-country skiers. In the Ústí nad Labem Region, 12 projects were supported, and in the Liberec Region, 10. The Ústí nad Labem Region is the first in the whole country, with the Liberec Region second. The second round of this year's grant will take place in September.
