Havířovská teplárenská, ENVEZ, Veolia and ČEZ ESCO will modernise the city’s heat supply system. Veolia’s large Karviná Heating Plant will be made more environmentally friendly and expanded with three new cogeneration units. These units will be located both within the heating plant premises and at the headquarters of Havířovská teplárenská společnost and will be built by ENVEZ, a joint venture between the City of Havířov and ČEZ ESCO. The new cogeneration units, with a combined output exceeding 10 MW, will supply heat to the district heating network together with the Karviná Heating Plant. ČEZ ESCO has been supporting the modernisation of Havířov’s energy infrastructure on a long-term basis. Currently, for example, it is completing the largest municipal energy savings project in Moravia and Silesia, which will save the city budget CZK 15 million annually.
