The LNG terminal in Eemshaven, Netherlands, is celebrating its third anniversary. Sixty-four ships carrying gas destined for Czechia have arrived there. Most of them came from the US, none from Russia
The LNG terminal in Eemshaven, Netherlands, has been in operation for three years. It was the first liquefied natural gas terminal launched in Europe since the start of the war in Ukraine. The facility can process up to eight billion cubic meters of gas per year, of which up to three billion are reserved for the Czech Republic, which is almost half of the country's current consumption. In addition to ČEZ, multinational companies Shell and Engie also use the terminal's capacity. During these three years, 64 ships ordered by ČEZ arrived at the terminal, bringing 5.8 billion cubic meters of gas destined for Czechia. More than 90 percent of the tankers loaded LNG in the United States, and none of the ships contained Russian gas, which is a rule directly stipulated in the contract with the terminal, and ČEZ will continue to strictly adhere to it.
