This year, 132 projects were successful in the Trees grant rounds. Thanks to the CEZ Foundation, a total of almost 150,000 trees have been planted in municipalities.

Czech cities and towns are becoming greener thanks to a grant from the CEZ Foundation's Trees program. In its 15 years of operation, nearly 150,000 trees have been planted. In this year's two rounds, the CEZ Foundation supported 132 projects with more than CZK 14 million. New trees and shrubs now adorn streets, parks, playgrounds, cemeteries, and the surroundings of chapels. Applicants can receive up to CZK 150,000 for planting, which often takes place as a social intergenerational gathering. Trees naturally act as noise and dust barriers, provide shade, thereby cooling their surroundings, offer shelter to birds and insects, have a calming effect on the human psyche, and generally improve the quality of life in their immediate vicinity.
