Deep within the underground tunnels beneath the Temelín Nuclear Power Plant, a technically demanding modernization project is underway. Specialists are gradually replacing hundreds of meters of safety piping that connects key facilities at the plant. Work on this critical technical water system requires exceptional precision and physical fitness and can only be carried out for a few weeks each year.

CEZ is continuously modernizing both nuclear power plants with the goal of ensuring they remain in operation for at least 60 years. At Temelín alone, the company has planned 238 investment projects worth CZK 3.8 billion for this year.
