Women in Nuclear Increased by 12%
The number of women working in CEZ nuclear power plants is currently 317, which is 12% more than three years ago. Overall, the number of women in the nuclear sector reached 11%.
Women in nuclear power plants have a wide range of occupations: nuclear physicists, economists, laboratory technicians, civil engineers, chemists, and electricians. Still more women are employed by specialized subsidiaries and contractors. A number of women also work in nuclear technology at the research facilities ÚJV Řež and Research Center Řež, which are part of CEZ Group. They are involved in research on small nuclear reactors, extending the lifetime of current reactors, testing the resistance of materials to radioactive radiation in space, or developing radiopharmaceuticals for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
